11 Days of Hope

Lung Cancer Awareness Month 2011

This month, thousands of people have come together to make a difference in the places where the effects of lung cancer are felt the most: their local communities. We have been celebrating successes, paying tribute to those touched by lung cancer and working for a more hopeful future for everyone affected by this disease.

To launch this Lung Cancer Awareness Month, we're sharing personal stories of the survivors who are behind this movement. Starting November 1, we shared one inspiring Story of Strength on Facebook and Twitter every day for eleven days.

The response from the community was overwhelming. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to see the conversation surrounding Eleven Days of Hope, and visit our Stories of Strength page to read—and share—more inspiring stories about the people who make up our community.

Ask 11 Friends for $11 on 11/11/11

To mark 11/11/11, we’re asking everyone to encourage eleven people to donate $11 each to the National LungCancer Partnership. Use the text below if you need help getting the conversation started!

Do you know that lung cancer takes more lives every year than breast, colon and prostate cancers combined, but it receives far less research funding than the other leading cancers? That’s why I’m helping to spread awareness for Lung Cancer Awareness Month.

And because today is 11/11/11, I’m asking 11 people to donate $11 each to the National Lung Cancer Partnership.  Will you help me reach my goal? You can donate online by visiting the Partnership's website. Thank you!
