Other Ways to Get Involved

The opportunities on these pages are just the beginning. There are countless ways for you to join the movement to defeat lung cancer. Here are just a few more ideas:

Research: Advocate for increased research funding

  • Write a letter to your Congressional representatives asking them to support more federal investment in lung cancer research.
  • Work with your state and regional representatives to get a lung cancer research “check off box" on your state’s income tax forms.

Awareness: Create a grassroots movement in your community

  • Organize or participate in a health fair or other event. We'll provide free education materials!
  • Find us on Facebook and Twitter to network with other lung cancer advocates and get the latest news.
  • Use Facebook and other social media to spread the word about the impact of lung cancer and to encourage others to get involved.

Change:  Raise funds for lung cancer research and other Partnership programs

  • Designate the Partnership as a beneficiary for a marathon, triathlon or other event.

  • Ask local businesses to donate a portion of their proceeds to the cause.
  • If you sell crafts, art, food or other goods, donate a portion of your proceeds to the Partnership.
  • Shop our lung cancer-related merchandise.
  • Make a donation to the National Lung Cancer Partnership.
  • See if your employer has a matching gift program so that your contribution can be doubled!
  • Make a commemorative gift in honor or memory of a loved one.
  • Consider including the National Lung Cancer Partnership in your estate planning.

We'd love to begin a conversation about any of these opportunities for you to get involved, or any ideas you may have. For more information, please contact Annie Dutcher, Programs Coordinator, at .
