Patients and Friends

When you or someone you care about is diagnosed with lung cancer, there are many questions that you may have. This section of our website is designed to provide information and resources for patients, family members and friends.

Educational Materials

  • Living with a Diagnosis of Lung Cancer, our educational booklet for newly-diagnosed lung cancer patients, answers basic questions about lung cancer, staging, treatment options, and more.

  • Ask the Expert, an expert-mediated blog on issues important to lung cancer patients and their families, comes to us compliments of Cancer Grace.

  • The Lung Cancer Voice (our print newsletter) and our e-newsletters provide updates on the latest developments in lung cancer research, information about Partnership events and patient and physician Stories of Strength.

  • Understanding Adjuvant Therapy Options, a collaboration between the Partnership and Research to Practice, can help you understand your treatment options for early-stage lung cancer as you and your healthcare team make important decisions about your treatment. Here, you will find perspectives from both lung cancer experts and patients.
  • Additional internet resources offer information about lung cancer and cancer in general, as well as information for smoking prevention and cessation. Click here to access a list of relevant emotional support services and financial resources.

Inspirational Stories and Blogs

  • Living With Lung Cancer: My Journey is a blog by Tom Cappiello, a survivor diagnosed with lung cancer in October 2007. Tom has been dedicated to raising public awareness of lung cancer and fighting the stigma of lung cancer along with the disease.

  • Stories of Strength are written and submitted by those touched by lung cancer. These are the true stories of hope and survival and, for others, of hardship and loss.
