STORIES OF STRENGTH
Grant Review Process
The National Lung Cancer Partnership's Grants & Awards are peer-reviewed by members of our Scientific Executive Committee and additional prominent lung cancer researchers. Grant applications are reviewed using a process similar to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) peer-review system.
The goal of the NIH peer-review system is to provide a fair and unbiased evaluation of applications. Each grant application is evaluated by multiple scientists who have expertise in relevant scientific disciplines and research areas.
In addition, the National Lung Cancer Partnership enhances the scientific reviews by including patient advocates in the review process to provide a patient and public perspective.
This review system ensures that our donors support the most promising research pograms and the scientists who make groundbreaking advances possible.
